Reality TV for the Common Good
American’s partisan and cultural divides are starkly present in our daily lives. From the news sources we read, to the people we socialize with, to whether and how we talk to family members - difference and division can feel insurmountable.
At the same time, our media choices are leading us more and more into cheaply made and widely watched reality television, streaming, and episodic content. Most of us watch content we agree with, and that tells us what we want to hear.
A HOUSE DIVIDED is the marriage of these realities - an episodic reality program, accessible to millions of viewers and entertaining to watch, that is both about our divisions and the real skills we can use to address them.
